HIBCC Standards are extended globally via an international network of HIBCC offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

HIBCC is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and is recognized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has identified the HIBC Supplier Labeling Standard (SLS) as an acceptable data format in their regulation on Unique Device Identification (UDI) and has accredited HIBCC as an authorized Issuing Agency of UDIs.

The HIBC SLS has also been recognized by the European Union in their developing regulation on device identification, as well as by the International Medical Device Regulators Forum.
