Certainly no industry benefits more from electronic commerce than health care. Each year the medical marketplace becomes more complex, as hundreds of thousands of products are shipped through layers of distribution networks to millions of locations worldwide. This volume of activity creates billions of dollars in transactions, each requiring an elaborate sales and contract administration process. Without electronic solutions, cost effective, safe health care would not be a reality.
Regardless of segment or size, members of the Health Care Community face ongoing challenges to reduce costs, increase efficiency and adhere to safety and compliance regulations.
The HIBCC E-Business Technical Committee serves as forum for members to share and gain knowledge of the business processes that are supported by electronic solutions. It is an opportunity to network with members of various healthcare organizations and recognize that E-Commerce has moved beyond passing data to providing business intelligence that can be used in every aspect of the business process.
HIBCC's E-Business Technical Committee meets 2-3 times per year and develops electronic transaction sets based on committee input. Following industry review and approval processes consistent with ANSI requirements, HIBCC then publishes and maintains the formats which are available on the website.
